Ph.D. course student as a Researcher/Postdoctoral Researcher in
Biomedical/Rehabilitation Engineering
Dear Professors/colleagues
I'm Prof. Sankai, University of Tsukuba, Japan.
One of my Ph.D. course students is now looking for a researcher position abroad
for a few years in biomedical engineering or rehabilitation engineering. He is
undoubtedly one of the most deserving students.
His name is Mr. Kenta Suzuki. He always exhibits superior ability in my research
projects and successfully accomplishes any tasks or projects in cooperation with
other team members. He is also a very energetic researcher with a high ambition
to be active in international fields. So I would like to support him to become
an excellent researcher with rich international careers by giving him the
opportunity to work in a stimulating research environment abroad.
Would you please take him on your project for a few years and support him to
improve his skills and senses of the research?
He can join your team as early as this year as a Ph.D. holder. If you are

Self-Recommendation (K.Suzuki)

My name is Kenta Suzuki. I am currently inquiring about opportunities for a
researcher or a postdoctoral researcher position in biomedical engineering or
rehabilitation engineering.
I am a Ph.D. candidate, 26 years old, with 5 years research experience in the
Cybernics field at University of Tsukuba (Japan), and expected to receive my
Ph.D. as early as this year, by March 2008 at the latest.
I am very interested in developing robots interacted with human and in exploring
human body functions, such as muscles, nerve system and motions.
I have been intensively involved in Prof. Sankai's project team to develop
"Robot Suit HAL". HAL is an exoskeletal type robot and has been originally
developed to help elderly people or disabled people walk around with their own
legs. Recently I proposed an algorithm to estimate human intentions related with
walking to provide comfortable and safe physical support. This work has been
highly praised by our subject patients as well as in academic societies I belong
to. A copy of the research paper is available upon request.
Through the research experience and training with my supervisor, I have learned
the system control theory, biomedical engineering, physiology, mechatronics and
electronics, of course mathematics and physics.
I strongly believe that I have mastered a variety of engineering skills and
senses, such as analog/digital circuit design, signal processing, computer
programming, data analysis technology, CAD/CAE/CAM, MC (Machining Center) and NC
(Numerical Control) machine operation and so on.
I believe that my education, engineering skills and interpersonal skills will be
an asset to your team.
